There is an urban legend based in the village of Asquith about agirl, killed in a motorcycle accident thirty years ago, who stillhaunts the deserted country lane where she died. The legend tellsof a phantom motorbike tearing up the lane at lighting speed in thedead of night, its engine howling and its spectral rider clingingon.The story is well-known throughout the village but becomes verypersonal to Charlie who struggles with normal teenage relationshipsand goes to the lane for peace and solitude. But his presence thereis not entirely of his own free will and he is drawn into themystery surrounding her death which is closer to him then herealises.
